Sara Sommerfeldt
[she/her] Anti-violence trainer, conflict manager and systemic de-escalation coach 
​
With over 25 years of experience in the theatre and film industry, Sara Sommerfeldt combines in-depth industry knowledge with leadership experience, conflict management skills and D&I expertise. After graduating with a degree in acting from the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts, she performed at renowned theatres such as the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Staatstheater Stuttgart. She has also appeared in numerous film and television productions and realised her own theatre and music projects. This artistic practice forms the foundation of her profound understanding of the industry – and its potential for transformation. As the founder of RISING GAZE, Sara Sommerfeldt develops stories from new perspectives and implements them in collaboration with other production companies. She also supports companies and organisations in developing diverse narratives and discrimination-sensitive structures. This includes creating awareness concepts that help companies create a respectful and inclusive working environment. As a certified anti-violence trainer, conflict manager and systemic de-escalation coach, she and her team have already successfully supported major film productions as a confidante and awareness officer. Her expertise is in demand throughout the German-speaking world – including UFA Fiction, Saxonia Media, Pantaleon Films, Constantin Film, Wiedemann & Berg, the Bavaria Group, the Deutsche Kinemathek and other renowned players. Sara Sommerfeldt gives workshops on female empowerment, D&I leadership and awareness, including on behalf of the Erich Pommer Institute, Produktionsallianz Campus and the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
