EVA DIAMANTSTEIN

[she / her] Writer - Expert on anti-Semitism and German-Jewish history of the 20th century

 

Eva Diamantstein studied free art at the ÉCOLE DES BEAUX ARTS in Paris and the KUNSTAKADEMIE Stuttgart. Since 1985 she has worked as a freelance director and stage designer in Germany and Switzerland. She also worked as a lecturer at the HOCHSCHULE FÜR DARSTELLENDE KUNST (MOZARTEUM) Salzburg, at the BRUCKNER-KONSERVATORIUM Linz and since 2005 at various private drama schools in Berlin. Scholarships from the VILLA WALDBERTA, the KÜNSTLERHAUS DER STADT MÜNCHEN and the LUISE-RINSER-STIFTUNG enabled her to pursue a further field of activity as a literary artist. In addition to plays, she has also published essays and 2 volumes of poetry. In her texts, exhibitions and installations she deals with perpetrators of National Socialism, the presence of the repressed National Socialist past in patterns of language and behavior and the shaping of private and public living space, as well as war and persecution. Through her extensive research she has acquired a great deal of knowledge about German-Jewish history, racism and exclusion. Eva Diamantstein works as a freelance artist and acting teacher in Berlin.
