Esther Gronenbron is an award-winning filmmaker and AI media artist from Berlin. After studying at the Film Academy in Munich, she won numerous national and international awards for her feature film debut alaska.de, including the Bavarian Film Award and two LOLAs for Best Director and Best Editing. Other award-winning films such as Stadt als Beute (City as Prey) and Ich werde nicht schweigen (I Will Not Be Silent) followed. Most recently, her streaming film Das weisse Schweigen (The White Silence) about hospital killer Niels Högel was nominated for the German Television Award. In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Esther Gronenborn is also active as a media artist. She has produced several music videos and social spots, including with her companies Gro.B. Entertainment and Shorts. In her photographs, digital collages and AI-generated video installations, she uses innovative technologies to explore the boundaries between reality and fantasy, memory and transformation, digitalisation and art. ​
